There was a prophet in the Old Testament named Ezekiel who had a very unique ministry.
He was a seer prophet who received many visions and extraordinary encounters with God which most people would call bazaar. One of Ezekiel’s most famous visions was when The LORD transported him to a valley filled with dry human bones.
He was told to prophesy (naba’) to the bones and instruct them to come together and be covered with sinews, flesh, and skin and then receive breath (ruwach)
The LORD then asked Ezekiel, “Could these bones live?” He replied; “Sovereign Lord, You alone know.” Then The LORD told him to prophesy to those dry bones and say to them, “Dry bones, hear the word of The LORD!”
This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones:
“I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you, and cover you with skin. I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I AM The LORD.” Ezekiel 37:6-7.
After Ezekiel prophesied as he was commanded, there was a noise and a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to bone. The sinews and flesh came upon them but there was no breath in them.
Then The LORD said; “Prophesy to the breath prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says The LORD God: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”
So he prophesied as He commanded him, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.
Then The LORD said that those bones represented the house of Israel who said, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!’
He told Ezekiel to prophesy to them saying: ‘Thus says The LORD God: “I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
Then you shall know that I am The LORD when I have opened your graves. I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, The LORD, have spoken it and performed it.
The LORD is showing me the body of Christ as the valley of dry bones. They are going through a season in which they appear dead and lifeless to the world. It seems that they’ve lost all hope and expectation.
Many believers are fatigued and disillusioned. Their faith has been shaken by what they are listening to in the media and they are no longer walking in the plans and purposes of God.
When people look at them they see a grave but The LORD sees a mighty army rising up
The LORD is saying to the body of Christ; Prophesy to the dead churches. Speak life over them. Prophesy resurrection power. Prophesy to everything in your life that seems dry and dead. Death and life are in the power of the tongue.
We are called to be a Church in the order of Acts chapter 2. We are called to be a Church that is empowered and equipped to raise the dead. We are a body that is filled with The Holy Spirit.
Its time to speak to the dead situations. It’s time to speak resurrection life into the body of Christ.
In the same way that Jesus called Lazarus out of the grave, He is calling us to “Come back to Life”. Allow Him to remove your grave clothes and set you free.
He wants to awaken the dreams that you once had. He wants to breathe life back into you and resuscitate you once again. Be assured that whatever He promised to each one of us will come to pass.
Be loosed from the garments of death and “Come back to Life”, for your time for resurrection has come.
Jesus is raising up a great army from among the dead bones. He will restore our breath and resuscitate our body and this generation once again.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit,” Proverbs 18:21.
“The hand of The LORD came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of The LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry. And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” So I answered, “O Lord God, You know.” Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of The LORD! Thus says The LORD God to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live,” Ezekiel 37: 1-5.
“Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says The LORD God: “Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. Then you shall know that I am The LORD, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves. I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, The LORD, have spoken it and performed it,” says The LORD.'”
