The Vultures Circle at Your Success!
The Absalom spirit is a pretentious spirit that is deceptive and manipulative at heart.
This particular spirit is one that,
- engages in gossip,
- a contrary vision from those called of God,
- a doctrine which seeks to gather others to get on the band wagon to destroy the one under attack, by stealing the hearts of the people so they disobey the Word of God.
Do you approach leadership alone with your concerns?
Or do you violate Matthew 18 by involving other people and seeking their counsel, to persuade them you are right, versus they are wrong attitude?
Not only that, if this spirit cannot get its way, it will abort your assignment in the church God planted you in by dividing them off into another church, and taking others with them, causing division.
For, Satan is the accuser of our brothers, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down, (Revelation 12:10b).
The Absalom spirit absolutely destroys people and churches.
The human wisdom that fuels it, feels extremely spiritual!
I believe that Absalom was fueled by hatred, pride, bitterness and the spirit of envy; as well as the spirit of murder and revenge at both his half-brother and his father David! Not to mention anger.
This is why Absalom invited Amnon to his house for a party. During the festivities, in the presence of David’s other sons, Absalom had his servants kill Amnon in cold blood.
In addition, he hated his father so much that he slept with his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel, (2 Samuel 16:22).
You see, Absalom began to steal, to undermine David’s rule. He set himself up as judge in Jerusalem and gave out promises of what he would do if he were king.
And, after four years of this, he asked to go to Hebron, where he had secretly arranged to have himself proclaimed king.
Isn’t it amazing how the wicked wisdom of man can justify their fleshly hatred and revenge of others! Their arguments seem scriptural! However, the spirit is deadly.
A lot of churches are born out of rebellion in regards to the spirit of Absalom.
People are leaving churches and raising them up out of hatred, rebellion, envy, strife and division but God is not a God who walks after the flesh, but the spirit of God!
For, he that is born of the spirit is of the spirit of God.
Is this a desire of your heart?
Or, are you willing to grow through the challenge in your current church?
Many are forming and building houses that are on a poor foundation. And, unless the LORD build a house, you labor in vain! (Psalms 127:1).
Absalom fooled and deceived the people because of his outward appearance and the promises he made to the people.
He stood at the gateway (the entry way guarding it) ensuring he met the people’s needs, by stealing the hearts of the people.
He knew just what to do and to say to get that done. Not only was he good looking but also seemed to have a silver tongue when it came to speaking to the people.
This conspiracy strengthened, and the number of Absalom’s followers grew steadily, such that David began to fear for his own life. Leaving David to gather his servants and fleeing to Jerusalem.
In this season the LORD is saying, “Watch out, for the opposition of those who come with a secret conspiracy, unlike the spirit of Jezebel, who goes after what she wants openly.”
The Absalom spirit is one who is looking for someone to blame for its own hurts and failures in life.
This spirit refuses to take responsibility and accountability for what it has done, but likes to play the right verses wrong game.
And, this is why Absalom played the vigilante victim fueling his own bitterness!
And notice, God allowed the men of Joab to counterattack Absalom. They found Absalom suspended in mid-air and killed him there.
Thus, the rebellion was quelled, and David returned to Jerusalem as king.
Whatever traps you set; get ready to dig your own grave!
~ Apostle Geraldine Fisher
Apostle Geraldine Fisher has a World-Wide-Social Media Net-Work Ministry. As a Missionary, God moved her into the Office of a Prophet, revealing to her the qualities of a True prophet, humility, humiliation, loving others, interceding in prayer, as she keeps her own life clean to accurately hear from God. Since hearing the audible voice of God calling her to ministry, she’s been called to intercede and pray for others in ministry as God speaks, instructs, directs and gives prophetic words for her to give to others. God promised He would bring her to sit and to learn before great men, all of which He did!
Awesome! Very great analogy.
