Don’t be offended when the leader(s) you expected to train, mentor or even teach you reject, neglect, overlook and leave you in the wilderness for you to struggle and the bears and lions to devour you.
It could be that like Jesse wasn’t David’s legitimate father, they aren’t your legitimate spiritual fathers or mothers and they never really liked you in the first place — and only tolerated you.
God has been with you in that wilderness, teaching your hands to war and your fingers to fight.
He’s been giving you warfare strategies how to conquer giants.
He’s been mentoring you in things of the spirit, teaching you accountability and how to lead with humility and diligence.
Training you to know HIS VOICE. Comforting you and building the relationship He wants with you!
The thing is, they never did and wouldn’t have understood the anointing that was on your life, simply because they themselves were not anointed to anoint you!
But Samuel is coming to love and cover you even correct you.
Some leaders will never train, teach, mentor, endorse or even support or encourage you, because like Saul, they are intimidated by you.
But keep going! Humble yourself under the MIGHTY hand of God and He WILL exalt you in due season!
When David went out to face Goliath, Saul mocked his youth and inexperience by saying in 1 Samuel 17:33-37,
33 And Saul said to David, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.”
34 But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, 35 I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it. 36 Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.” 37 Moreover David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.”
And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!”
