As My Heart Is Restored Unto You

As My Heart Is Restored Unto You

As my heart is restored unto You,
So too You are renewing my song.
Even as I journey on the road to Your home,
You are righting all that was wrong.

In my mind’s eye I envision You,
Even to the point of feeling Your embrace.
Through strained focus I look upon You,
So that I may see the beauty of Your face.

Your love is fierce and unrelenting.
It will not let me go.
You have lifted my spirits to new heights,
Even as my flesh is laid low.

With your mighty right hand You uphold me.
In Your secret place there is no remnant of fear.
In times of trouble You surround me.
In my deepest sorrow You prize each tear.

Before I was formed in my mother’s womb You knew me.
You called me by my name.
When all grew dark within,
You placed in me Your eternal flame.

I understand only the smallest things about You.
Still my words cannot adequately portray Your glory.
Turning each page in my short but well written book.
I find that You are the heart of my story.

Even as my love for You gushes forth
It is nothing more than a soft breeze.
If mine for You is a drop of water,
Then Yours is measured only by the seas.

How I long to know more of who You are;
To know You from the inside out.
Pour Your precious Spirit out into me,
Then turn on the spout!

You are the living water to my parched land;
The well from which I draw.
As only a vapor of You passes before me,
I am left speechless and in awe.

Your lasting peace rest upon me.
Joy gushes forth like a spring from my soul.
I came to You broken into a million pieces.
I left healed and whole.

Contemplating that today is the next in forever,
Is as futile as measuring that which has no end.
It is as unknowable and unfathomable,
As the fact that You call me Your friend.
